Silent Shiver
This game is our submission for the Godot Wild Jam #76: Freeze (featuring the Silent Night wildcard)
You emerge from a frozen block, in an unfamiliar underground dungeon, and it's really, really cold. It feels like if you spend too long away from the campfire, you'll be an ice cube once again! But hey, at least you've got your jacket to keep you warm, the extra thick wool of the hood is a nice touch - can't hear much with it up though.
Feeling Cold?
Keep moving! remember to use WASD or arrow keys (or the D pad on your controller) you'll constantly get colder otherwise, made worse by getting hit or touching something cold. Above you, there is a 'Coldness Bar' that reflects how cold you are. When this bar is maxed out, you will freeze into a solid cube! Somehow, you end up right at the campfire thaw out. The bar is lowered by pulling your hood up, but it can only do so much. Only standing at campfires can keep you alive in the long term, mostly.
It's Okay, Hood is here!
When you pull up your hood using spacebar (or any face button on your controller) your 'Coldness Bar' will be lowered (remember to keep it pressed), and the world will fall silent. Careful! Some traps might require you to listen out for danger - having your hood up might leave you frozen!
Cannons
Objects that fire a concentrated wind at the player at set intervals, that loudly charge up before firing . Some Canons have been tinkered with, and fire constantly! Being hit will almost freeze you, getting worse the longer you stay - be quick!
Icicles
Icicles aren't visible to you, hover they are indicated by a cracking sound before they fall on you. Whether or not you hear them - don't stay still!
Ice Paths
Ice paths are floor hazards that will make any trap way more difficult! They cause you to slip and slide are make keeping warm extra important - don't forget your hood!
Campfires
Campfires will warm you, saving you from freezing to death. They also serve as checkpoints in the event of your death. When first encountered, they will be unlit, but once you light them, they will stay lit until you settle down at another checkpoint.
Listen Out!
Some traps are unpredictable, so you need to keep an ear out - literally. Your hood muffles out everything into silence, so make sure to balance keeping warm with hearing danger!
Enjoy the game!
